The Time for Intercession is NOW!

There is a war on the family taking place in our country right now. An agenda is being pushed to allow children, who are still developing mentally, to make decisions about themselves without the consultation of their parents. There are bills in the process of being part of legislation in some states that will allow hospitals and “parents” to kill babies up to 28 days AFTER THEY ARE BORN. My heart aches for our children.

Our children are a gift from God and we, as parents, are responsible for raising them in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Proverbs instructs us to train a child in the way they should go. Who is to train them? Dad and Mom.

I’ve been up for a little while now interceding for our nation. My heart is broken when I see the path we are heading. As I prayed and asked God what to do, I just felt compelled to write this out but I also know it doesn’t stop here. A social media post and share shouldn’t be the only thing we, the church, people of God, should do. It is time we bombard heaven with our prayers. It is time we stand up for our children. It is time we protect our children from evil.

I know I may be labeled and discarded by some for my stance but eternity is at stake. This life we live is not the end. There is a heaven and there is a hell. We will spend eternity in one and the decision is made while we are still here, on this earth. God has given me 3 precious people to be sure they make it to heaven; Courtnie, Adisen, and Ella. Just as I have the responsibility to ensure my household serves the Lord, so do you Mom and Dad.

It is God’s will that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. So how do they hear without a preacher? How do they know without witnesses and disciples telling of what God has done for them? The time of just lurking within the four walls of the church is over. The time to see the Great Commission laid out in Matthew 28:19-20 is NOW! We, the church, MUST SHARE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, TODAY!

In closing, Andy Griffith said it pretty well when he portrayed a scenario of a father who has to teach his child about right from wrong. Here are the words he said, “You can’t let a youngun’ decide for himself.  He’ll grab at the first flashy-with-shiny-ribbons-on-it-thing he sees.  It’s difficult for him to tell the difference between right and wrong.  When he finds out there’s a hook in it, it’s too late.  The wrong kinds of things come packaged in so much glitter, it’s hard to convince him that the other thing might be better in the long run.  All a parent can do is say, “Wait…trust me”…and try to keep temptation away.”
